Futures in Offshore Wind
ESP’s Futures in Offshore Wind course was funded by Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT). The course was developed by ESP in partnership with the University of the Highlands and Islands and aims to give participants a comprehensive understanding of the offshore wind industry, focusing on the employment opportunities it offers.
This course comprising of 11 modules covers a wide range of topics related to offshore wind farm development, construction, operation, and maintenance – including consenting, environmental impacts, and social acceptability. Through a blend of case studies and real-world examples, participants will gain insights into various roles within the offshore wind sector, skill requirements, career paths, and emerging trends.
This course has been designed to be accessible to a wide audience, including but not limited to final year secondary school students, undergraduate and early-career graduate students with an interest in relevant disciplines such as marine science, environmental science, geography, planning, and engineering as well as those looking to transition from other sectors into a career in offshore wind.
