Jim has had an extensive skills career entering the college sector from industry before working with two Sector Skills Councils during which time he was also seconded into Scottish Government.
He is the Skills Lead for the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC), a member of the OWIC Investment in Talent Group., the Energy Skills Alliance and represents the college sector on the Scottish Climate Emergency Skills Action Plan
He is a member of a wide range of government, industry and college sector groups and has been instrumental in establishing the group structures and training networks that underpin ESP.

Dougie is Sector Manager for Engineering at ESP. Prior to joining ESP Dougie was Head of projects at Fife College and covered aspects of the Director of Faculty role collaborating with Industry partners, government bodies and educational institutions on innovative projects. Combined with Dougie’s time at Edinburgh College, he has 14 years’ experience delivering and developing the curriculum in a wide range of disciplines supporting the Manufacturing, Energy and Renewables sectors.
Having previously worked extensively in Engineering, Dougie is passionate about career long professional learning and skills development required to meet Industry requirements and government objectives. He currently represents the College sector on the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) and leads on several of ESP’s Training Networks.

Rachel’s areas of responsibility include hydrogen, low carbon heat, low carbon transport and energy efficiency initiatives.
With a background in curriculum design and development of innovative short courses, Rachel has successfully implemented new curricula and learning materials in advanced manufacturing, hydrogen, wind energy, and industrial automation during her time at ESP.
Rachel represents the college sector in key discussions with the Scottish Government regarding zero emission transport, low carbon heat and hydrogen skills.

Greg is a Programme Manager at ESP. Prior to joining ESP Greg was an Engineering Lecturer at Edinburgh College and has 11 years’ experience developing and delivering a wide range of Engineering disciplines, working closely with industry to meet their requirements.
Greg worked extensively with Doosan Babcock throughout Scotland in power generation (Nuclear, Gas, Coal) and Petrochemical areas as a Mechanical Engineer and in 2010 he joined Scottish Power in operations at Cockenzie and Longannet power stations. Greg has a great breadth of knowledge of both industry and college sectors.

Cherry joined ESP on a summer placement whilst studying at Forth Valley College. This entailed working on data input for a cross-sector project for ESP. Her contract was then extended, and she became a full-time member of staff after she graduated from her HND Administration & IT course.
Since joining ESP, Cherry has provided administration support to the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) Skills Lead Group and several of ESP’s training networks. She also played a key role in providing support to the STEM skills-based project FIRST® LEGO® League in Scotland.
Cherry currently handles general administrative duties for ESP and supports the Construction and STEM Leads’ Forums. Additionally, Cherry provides administrative assistance across several of ESP’s training networks in both the engineering and construction sectors.

James is a Programme Manager at ESP and joined the team from New Zealand where he worked at Ministry of Education leading the business and industry engagement function. During this time, he led the development of work-integrated programmes connecting high schools, colleges and industry and de-risking the transition from education to employment.
He has previously worked in local and central government, third sector, technology and higher education sectors and is a firm believer in the role of skills development and workforce strategy as a driver to effect change.
He brings experience of working with different industries, ranging from health, water infrastructure, digital technology, and regulation, to support the development of workforce that meets their requirements now, and into the future.

Alex trained and qualified as a Graphic Designer before joining Clackmannanshire Council to work in Social Inclusion and Regeneration Partnerships for 10 years where he provided Administrative and Research duties for a wide range of projects and initiatives.
In 2013 Alex joined SEPA to support the National Operations Waste Unit and provided key administrative support to the team which led on waste management and regulations across all of Scotland.
He joined ESP in 2015 and provides support to the Engineering, Automotive and Hydrogen sectors as well as being the secretariat to the ESP Management Board and plays a key role in the marketing and promotion of ESP to Colleges’ and partners.
