ESP Annual Report 2015 - 16

The ESP 2015-2016 Annual Report is now available and shows another very successful year working in collaboration with member colleges and partners across Scotland.

Automotive Training Network

The Automotive Training Network was established at an initial meeting in April 2016. An action plan of priorities for the group of 13 colleges has been established with Hybrid training and MOT commercial opportunities high on the list.

Erasmus+ Winds and Tides Student from Norway visit Scotland

Energy Skills Partnership worked with partners to arrange a tour of the energy sector across Scotland, a series of industry visits to key companies involved in the generation, transmission and distribution of renewable energy across Scotland as well as supply chain and globally significant research and development companies.

Big Bang Competition and Big Bang Near Me Fairs

The Big Bang Competition creates opportunities for young people to showcase their STEM projects. It's open to all 11 – 18 year olds in full-time education or training. Winners from regional events will be invited to be judged at the Big Bang Scotland event which will be held on the 13th June at Perth College.
 

BLOODHOUND Scotland Rocket Car Challenge Competition Final

BLOODHOUND Scotland is a partnership between Energy Skills Partnership (ESP), the Army, Education Scotland and Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC) working together to bring The Bloodhound Rocket Car Challenge to Scotland.

The BLOODHOUND SSC Project is a global Engineering Adventure, using a 1000mph world land speed record attempt to inspire the next generation to enjoy, explore and get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Success for Energy Skills Partnership at Scottish Renewables Green Energy Awards

On the 3 December 2015, Scottish Renewables hosted the Green Energy Awards 2015. 

The Energy Skills Partnership (ESP) was nominated and awarded the Contribution to Skills and Training Award at the ceremony held in Edinburgh. This follows on from a previous win for ESP who won the same award in 2013.

Introduction to Virtual Welding

Earlier this summer, ESP purchased a Fronius Mobile Virtual Welding Machine as a shared resource accessible to all colleges.

This equipment will be an invaluable resource reducing consumables costs and allowing colleges to reach out to potential students in schools.
